Additional Services and Clinics
Our nurses can help with many problems. An appointment can be made with any one of them on a same day basis. They can provide: well-person checks, cervical smears, smoking advice, travel vaccinations, childhood immunisations, flu vaccinations in winter, family planning advice, asthma and blood pressure checks, diet and weight loss, prescriptions. They can also deal with minor illnesses for anyone over 5 such as colds, coughs, sore throats, earache and urinary infections.
We provide an anti-coagulation clinic every Thursday morning.
This provides a number of services; walk-in blood tests each morning from 8.30 until 11.00, ECGs, afternoon leg ulcer clinics, ear syringing, wound dressings and cuts and minor injuries by appointment only.
Health Visitors for the Elderly
We have a dedicated health visitor for the elderly.
Outreach Clinic for the Elderly at Ada Court
This is run once a week on Tuesday afternoon.
Substance Misuse Nurse Specialist
We have a part time dedicated alcohol and drug addict nurse who is available to discuss any issues. This nurse is supported by our GP Dr Bakker who is a GP with Special Interest in Drug Addiction.
Chronic Disease Management
The Doctors and nurses jointly run specialised clinics for Diabetes and Ischemic Heart Disease. These are invitation only clinics.
The nurses also run a Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease clinic. The Asthma and Hypertension Clinic is also nurse led and takes place on Thursdays.
All Patients can book into this clinic for checks. Yearly reminders will be sent to all patients with these conditions.
We also provide a dietician once a week. Please contact reception to make an appointment.
Cryotherapy Clinic (the treatment of minor skin lesions by freezing)
This is held once a month on Wednesday afternoons and is run by Dr Henry Mintz, our GP with Special Interest in Dermatology.
Medical examinations for private purposes, the issuing of private medical certificates and other private services carry a fee. We do not sign passport applications. Information is available on request.
